As it can be seen from my project references my favorite type of projects are the complex, labour-intensive builings.
1. Preliminary activities
The first step is a kick-off meeting with the client to clarify the project’s requirements which is followed by a site visit and the distribution of the individual tasks. It is of great importance to determine the scale, the sectional layout, and the desired accuracy of measurement. It is also important to ensure the access and troublefree working in the building and to keep informed the dwellers and/or the workers at site.
2. Survey
I use Leica Disto, Leica levelling instrument and digital cameras for the local survey. The survey is executed by oversampling of measurement data, checking this way the measurement accuracy. Whenever the accuracy of measurement or the size of the building makes it necessary, we include a geodesist surveyor in the team. The efficiency, speed and discretion are crucial to minimize disturbance at site.
3. Survey report documentation
The collected field data and photos are reviewed and processed by computer. The final product is a survey report. We use ArchiCAD programme for data processing, the report format is .pla, .dwg, .dxf, the photos are in .jpg format.
